2020 Toyota 4Runner is Ready for Anything in New Venture Edition

By Justin Cupler | October 1st, 2019

We already knew the 2020 Toyota 4Runner would get a new 8-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, and a handful of other tech updates. Today, Toyota announced the 2020 4Runner would also get a new Venture model optimized for off-the-beaten-path driving around the Waukegan area and more.

The key update to the 2020 4Runner Venture Edition is its Yakima Megawarrior roof rack made from heavy-duty stainless steel that measures 52 inches long, 48 inches wide, and 6.5 inches tall. This roof-rack-mounted storage unit allows you to load up camping gear and other outdoor equipment for your next adventure.

Other exterior updates on the 2020 Toyota 4Runner Venture Edition include 17-inch Gunmetal-colored TRD wheels, and black-colored front and rear logos, outside mirrors, outside door handles, and rear spoiler.

The 4Runner Venture Edition not only looks the part of an off-road-ready rig – it has the powertrain to back it up. Toyota will base this body-on-frame SUV on the TRD Off-Road Premium model, so will feature standard part-time four-wheel drive with a two-speed transfer case with a selectable low range and CRAWL control for the rocky stuff.

While its exterior steals the show, the 2020 Toyota 4Runner Ventur Edition’s cabin is quite the space too. It features standard all-weather floor mats, a cargo mat, SofTex-trimmed seating with “TRD” lettering, and heated front seats. Buyers needing more cargo-handling features can opt for the available sliding rear cargo deck.
