The Toyota Sequoia Joins the TRD Pro Lineup in 2020

By Justin Cupler | February 27th, 2019

Toyota fans — particularly the off-roading types — love the TRD Pro line of vehicles, which includes the Tundra, Tacoma, and 4Runner. Well, that lineup is about to get one model larger as the 2020 Toyota Sequoia lineup will gain a new TRD Pro model of its own. Learn more about the 2020 Sequoia TRD Pro and what it offers our Fox Lake, Illinois buyers below.

Under its skin is where all the magic begins in any TRD Pro model, and the 2020 Sequoia TRD Pro will be no exception. It will feature 2.5-inch internal-bypass front Fox shocks that will boast seven compression zones and two rebound zones. These shocks will provide a soft ride in normal driving, but they get progressively stiffer through their stroke to prevent bottoming out on the really rough stuff. The rear shocks are also Fox units, but they are 2-inch piggyback monotube shocks with bottom-out-resistant technology.

At the corners, the 2020 Sequoia TRD Pro will ride on 18-by-8-inch black BBS forged-aluminum wheels slathered in P275/65R18 rubber. Also setting this more rugged SUV apart will be its exclusive Army Green color option, “TOYOTA” grille, black TRD badges, TRD front skid plate, cast-aluminum running boards, and roof rack.

The 2020 Sequoia TRD Pro will feature the same 5.7-liter V-8 powerplant as the rest of the SUV’s lineup. This will inject 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque for off-road-beating power. Plus, an available TRD cat-back exhaust system gives it a mighty growl that’s specially tuned for ideal in-cabin listening pleasure.

The TRD Pro isn’t all about off-roading, though. It also has loads of comfort inside with its keyless ignition, eight-way power driver’s seat, power moonroof, tri-zone automatic climate control, high-resolution 7-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, SiriusXM, and much more.

And like most Toyota models at our Fox Lake, Illinois dealership, the 2020 Sequoia TRD Pro will come standard with tons of advanced safety tech. These features include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
